CC denounces that a Gesplan job offer for Lanzarote favors residents of Gran Canaria

"Lanzarote is once again experiencing an episode of contempt from the Government of the Canary Islands." This is what the CC spokesperson in the Cabildo, Pedro San Ginés, has denounced, following a job call from the public company Gesplan, which depends on the Government of the Canary Islands.

CC emphasizes that the announcement of this call was published on Gesplan's Facebook page on January 29, when the deadline to submit applications ended the following day. However, the party's main criticism focuses on the fact that the offer stated that having residence on the island of Gran Canaria will be valued as a requirement, when it is a job directly related to Lanzarote.

Specifically, biologists will be hired to work and draft the Recovery Plan for the Houbara bustard on the islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, which are the only Canary Islands where it lives. However, the call states that "it will be valued that the candidate has a domicile in Gran Canaria or/and in Fuerteventura".

"I want to believe that this is a mistake and I demand immediate correction with the necessary publicity and extension of deadlines," said the nationalist spokesperson, who assures that, "if it is not a mistake in the call, constitutional principles would be being violated."
