The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, has refused to appear in the plenary session held this Wednesday, July 26, to "avoid giving explanations about the lack of work announced by the City Council itself", to prevent the poor condition of the wind turbines of the Montaña Mina Wind Farm from continuing to put the safety of the population at risk, the party criticizes.
An appearance requested by the Canary Coalition Group that has seen "how the first mayor, in a totally undemocratic act, has prevented the nationalist spokesperson, David Rocío, from arguing the reasons for his request."
"We do not understand this position of the mayor, when both the secretary of the City Council and other councilors have asked him to let me justify the reasons that have led us to request the appearance," said the CC spokesperson, David Rocío, who directly accuses the mayor of having lied to the media and all citizens.
"It's all a string of lies. We have the file and there is no hiring there despite the fact that the mayor announced with great fanfare that the dismantling of the mills had already been contracted. This was conveyed to the Security and Emergency Consortium itself, when it offered to contract these works, and it was announced in a press release," says the CC councilor.
As if that were not enough, Rocío adds that "just a week ago, the mayor asked Oswaldo Betancort to proceed with the removal of the wind turbines by the first institution."
"What's the deal? Didn't they already have it contracted? The mandate begins as it ended; with lies and more lies," emphasizes the nationalist spokesperson, who insists that "the reality is that absolutely nothing has been done and every day that passes increases the danger not only for the residents of the municipality but for the entire island, because it is not enough to delimit and mark the area. Urgent action must be taken."
