CC announces to organizations abroad the elaboration of the Canary Emigration Law

Representatives from Venezuela and Argentina-Uruguay described the party's project as "the best for the Canary Islands and for Canarians living around the planet"

The national secretary of CC, David Toledo.

The general secretary of Coalición Canaria, Fernando Clavijo, and its secretary of Organization, David Toledo met, with the executive secretary of foreign policies, José Téllez, with representatives of Coalición Canaria in Venezuela and Argentina-Uruguay, in a work session in which they announced that from the Government of the Canary Islands they are starting to work on a Canary Emigration Law.

This Law, explained the general secretary, “will provide a stable response, detached from political changes, to the needs of Canarians residing abroad and their descendants, as an essential tool for their rights to be enshrined in a legal norm and placed at the center of the policies developed by the Executive”.

In this sense, Clavijo celebrated the achievements that have been made “in these almost two years of Legislature, where we have advanced a lot, thanks to the involvement of organizations abroad and the importance of a party like Coalición Canaria being back in the Government, giving continuity to the work we also did during the years of opposition”.

For the nationalist leader, “Canarians abroad and their descendants need specific but transversal work, from all areas of government, to maintain ties, to meet their needs and to project the future of the Canarian community in the world”.

That line of work is contemplated in the next National Congress of Coalición Canaria, which will take place on April 5 and 6, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and about which David Toledo explained that "three presentations will be debated on the promotion of the sustainability of the Canary Islands, the Canarian national identity and the fit of the Canary Islands in the State and in Europe and a third presentation on the Statutes of the organization of Canarian obedience".

In that event in which delegates from the committees of the nationalist organization abroad will meet, “we will have the opportunity to project what the future of the organization will be like, which has emerged stronger after the attempt by the rest of the political forces to make us disappear, and increase the nationalist base so that the Canary Islands continue to advance in its own project that gives real solutions to its
people”.

The representatives of Venezuela and Argentina-Uruguay agreed on this, describing the CC project “as the best for the Canary Islands and for Canarians living around the planet, because without Coalición in the government, the rights of Canarians were not respected, and neglect and breaches were constant”.

The nationalist representatives abroad recognized the work that is being done now from the Government and the party, and José Téllez made a balance on the points, included in the electoral program, that are being carried out and that will continue to be reinforced. He also stressed that “we want to implement new actions not only in the social and cultural field but also in the educational and training field, especially with everything related to young people, because the demands are changing and vary according to the place of residence”.
