The Ministry of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands has confirmed that the holding of secondary school teaching staff examinations is postponed until 2021. As for those for the primary school teachers' body, they will take place in 2022.
This was indicated this Wednesday by the Director General of Personnel, Marisol Collado, after the Sectoral Conference held between the Ministry and the Autonomous Communities.
Collado explained that, despite the fact that no agreement has been reached between the different Spanish regions, "the Canary Islands has decided to agree to the postponement of these calls, a measure that aims to reduce the uncertainty surrounding these processes, as a result of the crisis caused by the coronavirus", and recalled that the Canary Islands was among the autonomous communities that defended the postponement already established.
The Director General will chair a meeting this Thursday with the trade union organizations of the archipelago, which will take place by videoconference, to report on more details of the measure adopted.
