The future management of water in Lanzarote adds a new player. **Canaragua** has sent a letter to the Insular Water Consortium formally communicating its interest in taking over the service, in the midst of the contract review process with Canal Gestión.

In its statement, Canaragua informs the Consortium that it has reiterated its interest to Canal de Isabel II in participating in the process of transferring the water management contract in Lanzarote and La Graciosa. The company states that it feels fully capable of taking on the service, recalling that it already participated in the original tender and has a deep understanding of the needs and challenges of the concession. Furthermore, it maintains that it can provide "efficient, committed, and high-quality" management, and that its experience and technical capacity would allow for service improvement and increased user satisfaction.

The company adds that, given the latest public information on the evolution of the procedure, it considers it necessary to strengthen the guarantees of transparency, competition, and impartiality. It emphasizes that any action that could alter the contract's conditions must adopt mechanisms that reinforce the objectivity of the process, avoiding doubts about its regularity. Canaragua concludes by trusting that the Consortium Assembly will guarantee equal opportunities for all interested parties and will safeguard the public interest inherent in the management of an essential service such as water.

This move comes days after the current concessionaire filed a document last Thursday, November 20, informing that a company, whose name has not been disclosed, was willing to take over the contract if the concession was ultimately terminated. The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, announced this information on Monday on Buenos Días Lanzarote, in a scenario marked by continuous outages and supply failures
