The Haría City Council announces the closure of the beaches of Caletón Blanco and El Charco de La Condesa due to polluting spills from the tuna boat stranded since this morning on the coast of Órzola.
The prohibition will remain until further notice, once the health authorities guarantee the healthiness of the area and that there is no risk to the well-being and health of people.
The municipal institution is working in collaboration with the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, which has activated the Island Emergency Plan in the face of marine pollution, with the aim of removing the vessel from the bay to avoid possible damage to marine biodiversity and the ecosystem.
The Council requests citizens to avoid proximity to the affected areas. Likewise, it is requested that the provisional signage be respected, while apologizing for the inconvenience caused.
