The residents of Buganvillas street in the tourist area of Costa Teguise can now request from the concessionaire, Canal Gestión, the connection to the public network of water supply.
The Lanzarote Water Consortium has completed and received the works carried out on the aforementioned street, which had a budget of 295,034 euros financed by the Cabildo of Lanzarote and involve the commissioning of a 2.2-kilometer supply network to supply a total of 117 plots, of which there are currently 24 houses already built and inhabited.
The president of the Cabildo and the Water Consortium, Oswaldo Betancort, has highlighted that “we are working to leave behind the 20th century in which this island was immersed in terms of water, and fully enter the 21st century with a supply network that reaches every corner of the island's geography. And we do it by modernizing the infrastructures to guarantee the efficiency and quality of the service we provide to the citizens”.
The Minister of Water of the Cabildo, Domingo Cejas, recalled that “the works on Buganvillas street are added to those carried out in other municipalities, and come to solve problems that have been entrenched for years and have influenced the quality of life of the affected residents. We continue with our planning to improve the entire supply network”.
The work on Buganvillas street in Costa Teguise is part of the renovation and expansion plan of the supply network that the Lanzarote Water Consortium has underway for this year 2025.
“In recent months we have put into operation new networks in Cervantes and César Manrique streets in San Bartolomé, and the network of El Sobaco road has been executed and we are waiting for its commissioning, in the same municipality, and the infrastructure of the Montaña de Tinache area, in Tinajo, where we have already installed almost 5 kilometers of pipeline with an investment of close to one and a half million euros that we hope will be completed before the end of the year”, according to Domingo Cejas.
