The general secretary of the PSOE of Fuerteventura, Blas Acosta, has renounced his candidacy to occupy the act of senator for the Autonomous Community that was left vacant after the resignation of Pedro Ramos for personal reasons.
According to information published in various media, collected by Europa Press, Blas Acosta has sent a letter to the general secretary of the PSOE of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, in which he transmits the reasons for his decision.
In said letter, according to 'Canarias Ahora', Blas Acosta assures that he withdraws "any aspiration to hold the position" in representation of the Autonomous Community in the Senate in the face of the "harassment and discredit" that he says he has received.
The news has emerged one day before the Regional Executive Commission of the PSOE of the Canary Islands has been convened, in which the vote is scheduled for the person who would occupy the Senate seat by autonomous designation.
