Bittersweet victory for Ángel Víctor Torres, who will not be able to re-edit the Pacto de las Flores

The sum of CC and PP is one seat away from an absolute majority

Ángel Víctor Torres' PSOE is the most voted force in the Canary Islands, losing two seats compared to 2019 and remaining at 23. Of the other three partners of the Pacto de las Flores, Nueva Canarias maintains its 5 seats and ASG the three it had, with Unidas Sí Podemos losing its four representatives. Coalición Canaria adds 19 seats to 15 for the Partido Popular, leaving these two parties just one seat away from an absolute majority. Both parties could govern the Canary Islands with the support of one of the three island parties

The main novelty in the plenary hall of Teobaldo Power will be the four deputies from Vox, a party that enters the autonomous chamber for the first time, with four seats and without having done practically any electoral campaign.

In the autonomous constituency, where nine of the 70 seats are distributed, four have gone to the PSOE, two to the PP, two to Coalición Canaria and one to Vox, with none for Nueva Canarias.

Atomization of the left

The alternative left, which with its different denominations nucleated around Podemos has been in the legislative chamber for the last two legislatures, loses its four representatives, weighed down by the division after the appearance of Drago Verdes Canarias, a project created and led by Alberto Rodríguez after his departure from Podemos. Unidas Sí Podemos and Drago Verdes Canarias share around 3% of the votes each, which leaves both without seats.
