The Yaiza City Council, through the Department of Urban Planning and Public Works, informs of the temporary closure to traffic of Papagayo Avenue, in the section between the church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen and the Princesa Yaiza Hotel.
This closure responds to the need to carry out the comprehensive rehabilitation works of Papagayo Avenue, which include the paving of the road, the renovation of sidewalks, the construction of a public parking area with more than sixty spaces, the installation of new low-consumption luminaires, among other actions aimed at improving the accessibility, safety, and energy efficiency of the area.
During the period of execution of the works, only exclusive access to Papagayo Shopping Center will be allowed. In addition, a section of sidewalk will be enabled to ensure the safe passage of pedestrians. The traffic cut will remain in effect while the works of this first section last.
Provisional traffic diversions
Vehicles destined for the Las Coloradas area must circulate along Femés Avenue, accessing from the roundabout that connects with Canarias Avenue (LZ-2). From there, they will be able to join the urban center through Janubio and Vial de Enlace streets.
To access the urban core or the area of El Faro, one must use Femés Avenue and continue along Papagayo Avenue until its intersection with Maciot street, from where Femés Avenue is taken again.
The Yaiza City Council thanks in advance the understanding and cooperation of neighbors, female neighbors, and visitors for the possible inconveniences caused, reminding that these actions will result in the significant improvement of the urban quality of the municipality. The total investment of the project reaches 2.6 million euros with works that will extend up to the Ciudad Jardín roundabout, near Las Coloradas.
