The president of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Astrid Pérez, held a meeting this Tuesday with representatives of the Spanish Association of Women Entrepreneurs of the Canary Islands (ASEME Canarias), a non-profit entity dedicated to promoting the leadership and participation of women in the business and management field.
During the meeting, held at the headquarters of the Regional Chamber, the importance of consolidating institutional dialogue to improve the opportunities of Canarian businesswomen and entrepreneurs was discussed, as well as to highlight their role in the economy of the archipelago.
ASEME Canarias presented to the president of Parliament its strategic project “Red Conecta Canarias”, a digital platform that aims to:
-Overcome geographical barriers, guaranteeing connection and collaboration between businesswomen from all the islands.
-Promote digitization, through training programs in technological tools.
-Boost the local economy, promoting cooperation and trade between companies led by women in the Canary Islands.
President Astrid Pérez expressed her interest in learning first-hand about the work of the association and in exploring avenues of collaboration to strengthen gender equality in the business fabric of the archipelago.
The meeting also served to analyze key challenges such as women's access to financial resources, the need for regulatory frameworks more favorable to female entrepreneurship, and the promotion of support and visibility programs for businesswomen and managers.
With this meeting, ASEME Canarias and the Parliament of the Canary Islands reinforce their shared commitment to creating a more inclusive, competitive and fair environment for women in the economic and business field.
