The Public Works area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has recently started the asphalting of the future Urban Park of Playa Honda.
Councilor Jacobo Medina visited the beginning of the paving works in the area, together with the mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, and the councilors of Works and Urbanism, Raúl de León and Marlene Romero.
“This work is one of the great projects that the Island Council has had since 2021, and little by little it is becoming a place of enjoyment for the residents of the area”, says the Councilor for Public Works, Jacobo Medina.
The Cabildo recalls that the project is conceived from a basic element, the crater, which will host the different uses that will be developed in the urban park. In this sense, a network of paths will connect the square in the southern area and the promenade.
“This new area will have spaces for the development of different initiatives, as well as places for the recreation of pets, and a large garden area”, adds the councilor.
The Cabildo of Lanzarote allocates an amount of three million euros to this work, financed by the set of actions of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy "Conurban Azul" of the Sustainable Growth Operational Program 2014-2020.
