The Department of Social Welfare of the Arrecife City Council has signed a collaboration agreement with the 'La Caja de Canarias' Foundation for the implementation of the 2024 School Aid Program, aimed at supporting families in situations of economic vulnerability. This program is aimed at students of Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary, Basic Vocational Training and
Baccalaureate, under 16 years of age, with the aim of covering essential needs for the development of the next school year, such as school supplies, books, uniforms and computer equipment.

The agreement, which will be in effect until October 31, 2024, and may be extended annually for a maximum of four years, establishes an economic endowment of 4,900 euros by the
'La Caja de Canarias' Foundation for the municipality of Arrecife. This financial support will be channeled through the Department of Social Welfare of the capital's Consistory, which will facilitate coordination with the
beneficiary families to ensure that the aid reaches those who need it most.

The Councilor for Social Welfare, Maite Corujo, has highlighted the importance of this agreement, stating that "the School Aid Program is a crucial tool to ensure that no child or
girl from Arrecife is excluded from access to school supplies for economic reasons. This type of initiative reaffirms our commitment to the well-being of families and the future of our children."

Families interested in applying for this aid may do so through the Arrecife City Council website or in person at the offices of the Department of Social Welfare. Applicants must meet the established requirements, which include the presentation of documentation that proves the family's economic situation and the enrollment of minors in educational centers.

The agreement also contemplates the creation of a Monitoring Commission, in which both entities will be represented, to guarantee the correct implementation and evaluation of the program.
This commission will meet regularly to monitor the actions carried out and propose new measures for the benefit of the children of Arrecife.

With this collaboration, the Arrecife City Council and the 'La Caja de Canarias' Foundation reaffirm their commitment to improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable families, ensuring that all children have the same educational opportunities.
