The Arrecife City Council has urged both Canal Gestión Lanzarote and the Water Consortium to "find solutions" to the spills that occur in the Charco de San Ginés.
This request has been made by the Council after a meeting held this Thursday between the Councilor for the Environment, Ángela Hernández, technicians from the municipal department, and the managers of the Water Consortium, Domingo Callero, and Canal Gestión Lanzarote, David González.
From the capital's Consistory, they announce that this meeting took place after carrying out "a follow-up to the wastewater spills that occur in the Charco de San Ginés and in Punta del Camello", in the face of "the continuous complaints expressed by the citizens." From the City Council, they point out that the residents continue to see how wastewater spills continue in this special space in the center of Arrecife, "without corrective measures having been put in place by the entities with responsibility for water matters."
"The City Council has urged the managers of these two entities to find solutions to the spills," says the Councilor for the Environment, Ángela Hernández.
The City Council points out that at the meeting a commitment was acquired by Canal Gestión Lanzarote so that, once the formal requests are made in this regard by the Water Consortium and the Arrecife City Council, "carry out an exhaustive review of the sewage network in the area to detect leaks in the network, or determine if there are premises or homes that are not connected to it."
