The Department of Contracting of the Arrecife City Council, led by Deputy Mayor Echedey Eugenio, has closed the month of September with the bidding of 14 new contracts, whose total amount amounts to 3,600,607.63 euros.
These contracts, explains the mayor, cover various areas essential for the development of Arrecife. “The management we are developing responds to the real needs of our neighbors, modernizing municipal resources and improving the quality of the services we provide,” says the deputy mayor.
Thus, in terms of security and social welfare, it highlights the supply of police intervention vehicles and a vehicle for the Department of Social Welfare, with an amount of 109,990 euros.
In addition, the supply of vehicles for Emergencies and Civil Protection has been awarded, which represents an investment of 332,770 euros, thus strengthening the capacity to respond to critical situations.
Regarding urban mobility, the City Council has taken a significant step towards sustainability with the acquisition of four electric urban buses and the installation of two charging points, for a total value of 2,396,300 euros. This measure not only reinforces public transport, but also promotes the reduction of the carbon footprint in the municipality.
In the field of general services, the City Council has invested 34,865.95 euros in the purchase of an eight-seater vehicle with official screen printing, intended for municipal services, and 53,869.62 euros in the rental of special machinery for specific jobs.

The supply of two all-terrain vehicles for Civil Protection, valued at 48,150 euros, completes the actions aimed at improving resources for the security of the municipality. Other notable tenders include the acquisition of a police intervention van and a vehicle for the Department of Social Welfare, which total 27,820 euros and 74,000 euros, respectively.
Another of the important tenders corresponds to the service of drafting the project for the regeneration and recovery of the Argana neighborhood, with an amount of 99,712.62 euros. This project, distributed in three lots, marks an important step in the urban modernization of Arrecife, with the development of a comprehensive plan to revitalize one of the most emblematic areas of the municipality.
“These investments are the result of coordinated work with the management areas and, in addition to improving the operational capacity of the City Council, generate a positive impact on the local economy, by promoting public contracting and the participation of companies in the environment,” emphasizes the capital's head of Contracting.
Each of these contracts also reflects the commitment of the Area led by Echedey Eugenio to energy efficiency, sustainability and the modernization of its infrastructures. “We are not only improving basic services, but we are also contributing to the sustainability of the municipality, with smart investments that will ensure a better future for Arrecife,” says the mayor.
In addition to the operational benefits, it is important to note that these tenders generate a positive impact on the local economy, encouraging the participation of companies in public procurement processes. “With each euro invested in these projects, in addition to improving the quality of services, we contribute to the economic development of the municipality,” says Eugenio.
