The Arrecife City Council has reinforced the urban bus service that reaches the San Román cemetery for visits on All Saints' Day, for which the institution already announced that it was also extending the cemetery's hours.
As the Arrecife Consistory recalls, the municipal cemetery will remain open on October 30 and 31 and November 1 between 08:00 and 20:00 hours. As for the buses, line 3 will operate to San Román between 09:00 and 19:00 hours. In this regard, according to the Councilor for Transport and Mobility, Ángela Hernández, it is estimated that the arrival and departure from San Román will be at 20 minutes of each hour, subject to the fluidity of traffic.
The government group has also planned to reinforce prevention measures for Covid-19 before this date. However, the Councilor for Health, Saro González Perdomo, proposes that peak hours be avoided and that, in the face of Covid 19, fewer representatives of each family with deceased people attend this year.
Among the prevention measures, the entrance and exit routes will be signposted at the door, where there will be hydroalcoholic gel available to visitors. The staff will also be reinforced, who, together with Civil Protection personnel, will be in charge of controlling the capacity and reminding of the mandatory use of masks, maintaining a safe distance and using gel, as well as the recommendation that the visit be as brief as possible, in addition to offering support to visitors.
Disinfection of the interior of San Román
In these days prior to the All Saints' holiday, the Department of Security and Emergencies, with the assignment of Civil Protection personnel, has also reinforced the disinfection of the interior of the San Román cemetery to prevent Covid.
In addition, the Departments of Health and Public Works, jointly, have carried out several improvement works inside San Román in recent weeks to provide it with greater accessibility, works that culminate in these days prior to the All Saints' holiday. Likewise, the Department of Parks and Gardens has carried out the setting up of the green areas and planters.
