The Arrecife City Council launched this Tuesday the first public call to promote sports events of interest held in the city.
The Municipal Government led by Mayor Yonathan de León has created a specific line to help professionals, companies, or individuals who promote projection sports events and that take place in the capital of Lanzarote.
In this work plan, the Department of Sports, led by councilwoman Eli Merino, has provided the municipal area with the bases and rules so that the City Council can grant financial aid to individuals, groups, or companies, intended for the realization of these events. A line that has been promoted through the processing of ordinances, plenary approval, public exhibition, and official call opening.
The Arrecife City Council published in the BOC (Official Bulletin of the Province), in its edition last Friday, July 24, the official opening of this call. The objective is to help cover the expenses related to the celebration of sports events and sports activities of marked general interest in the municipality of Arrecife.
The amount of the budgetary credit that finances the aforementioned call for the current year amounts to the sum of 688,276.23 euros. Interested individuals and companies have 10 business days to process these applications under this line, which is budgeted with this high amount.
Mayor Yonathan de León Machín has emphasized that the City Council has provided itself with a legal tool with these ordinances and call line that will allow for medium and long-term planning of sports events where Arrecife, and local and island society, will see the return for the local economy from these investments in sports events.
