The Department of Education of the Arrecife City Council, headed by Abigail González, informs that this Wednesday, April 8, the call for subsidies for students studying outside Lanzarote during the 2025/2026 academic year has been published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas.

This line of aid aims to facilitate access to regulated training for students in the municipality who must travel off the island to pursue university studies, intermediate or higher vocational training cycles, or other official courses. For this, the City Council has allocated a sum of 350,000 euros, which will be distributed among the beneficiaries up to the limit of the available credit.

The Councillor for Education, Abigail González, has highlighted the reinforcement of this call, pointing out that “last year the economic allocation was raised to 350,000 euros, 100,000 more than the previous academic year, so that these aids can reach the largest possible number of families”.

Likewise, he/she added that “from the City Council we continue betting on facilitating that our young people can continue their training, regardless of whether they have to leave the island to do so.”

The deadline for submitting applications will be fifteen working days starting tomorrow, after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Province, so it will remain open from April 9 to 29, both included.

Interested persons may download the necessary forms through the municipal website (www.arrecife.es), accessing the electronic headquarters, where the documentation is available in the notice board section.

Applications may be submitted both electronically, through the electronic headquarters, and in person at the General Registry of the Arrecife City Council.

These grants are aimed at registered students in the municipality, with a minimum residency of one year, who are studying in centers located outside Lanzarote, including those cases in which the training, even if online, involves inter-island travel.
