The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, and the Minister of Public Works of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Jacobo Medina, have been this Monday supervising the actions that are being executed on the Costa Teguise and Los Mármoles (LZ-3) link, in the direction of the Lloret industrial area, with an intervention aimed at improving the signage and marking of one of the main accesses to the capital, and contributing to greater traffic flow.
The Arrecife City Council had requested the insular Minister of Public Works, Jacobo Medina, to reinforce the road signage that allows for greater traffic flow until the next construction of the new roundabout planned in that area, near Lloret, for which the technical project is already available.
In a synchronized manner, this action reinforcing the road signage has been carried out days before the diversions that the Arrecife City Council has implemented on the Vía Medular to continue the works of the new rainwater network, which is currently being executed by the Arrecife City Council, in that neuralgic area of the city. The Department of Mobility and Transport has suggested to drivers that they avoid traveling through the Vía Medular, as it is under construction, and use the Arrecife Ring Road, the LZ3, as an alternative to access the neighborhoods on the perimeter of the Vía Medular. The action by the Ministry of Public Works on the LZ101, Lloret area and entrance and exit towards Los Mármoles, and the Ring Road, provides greater temporary traffic flow in that area.

The works have included the improvement of horizontal and vertical signage, the repainting of directional arrows, and the installation of new marking elements, including H-75 milestones, with the aim of making driver circulation more intuitive and safe. The action has made it possible to reinforce the visibility of the different traffic movements and better organize the accesses and exits at this strategic point of the island road network.
Jacobo Medina, Minister of Public Works of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, highlighted that "we are acting at strategic points on our roads so that the signage is clear, visible, and safe. At this junction, which registers a significant volume of traffic daily, it was necessary to improve both the condition of the signage and the marking."
"From Public Works, we continue to work so that our roads not only have a good surface but also signage that allows drivers to anticipate, orient themselves correctly, and drive more safely," added Medina.
For his part, Yonathan de León, mayor of Arrecife, pointed out that "the entrance or exit from Arrecife to Costa Teguise and Los Mármoles, via the Ring Road, is one of the main access nodes to our city, and we want those arriving in the capital to find a perfectly signposted, safe road that contributes to traffic flow."
"This action improves road safety and, at the same time, strengthens the entrance or exit from Arrecife for drivers. We are working in a coordinated manner with the Cabildo to continue improving the accesses and connections of our capital with the rest of the island. The entry into service this week of these improvements has been vital to decongest traffic on the Vía Medular, given the stormwater works we are carrying out in this area of the city," stated Yonathan de León.
The intervention by the Ministry of Public Works is part of the improvement actions being developed on the island road network to reinforce safety, renew signage, and improve the functionality of the roads, especially at points with higher traffic intensity.
