Arrecife expects to gather more than 50,000 people for the Soccer World Cup final

The capital will once again set up a giant screen to follow the match after gathering thousands of fans in the semifinal against France

The Arrecife City Council will repeat this Sunday the giant screen broadcast of the Football World Cup final in the surroundings of the Theme Park, where it expects the attendance of more than 50,000 people to follow the match of the Spanish National Team.

The decision comes after the high participation registered during the semifinal between Spain and France, played this Tuesday, in which thousands of people gathered next to the Theme Park and the Lava Live venue to cheer on La Roja in a call organized by the departments of Sports and Tourism, Commerce, with the collaboration of the Lava Live Festival.

After Spain's 2-0 victory, which certified the national team's passage to the World Cup final, the mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, highlighted the atmosphere experienced during the night and confirmed that the operation will be repeated for the final.

The City Council assures that the day went smoothly and highlights the public attendance, as well as the festive atmosphere and the civic behavior of those present.

During the broadcast of the match, the mayor, Yonathan de León; the spokesperson for the PP and head of Sports, Tourism, and Commerce, Eli Merino; the councilor for Security and Emergencies, Kevin Cortés, as well as other members of the municipal government group, were present.

Spain sealed its qualification for the final after defeating France 2-0. The team led by Luis de la Fuente will face the winner of the other semifinal this Sunday, which is being played by England and Argentina.
