The Department of Animal Welfare of the Arrecife City Council has taken a further step with regard to the welfare of animals by enabling a WhatsApp line to maintain direct and agile communication with the people responsible for the feline colonies of the municipality.
This new tool will allow caregivers to be informed immediately about the days of food collection for cats, the organization of animal capture and collection, and other key aspects related to the management of feline colonies.
Councilor Jacobo Lemes has stressed "the importance of this initiative as part of the comprehensive animal welfare plan of the municipality" and stressed that "it is essential to ensure the welfare of cats and, at the same time, ensure a good coexistence with citizens. Therefore, we not only provide training and resources to caregivers, but we also make sure that they have the necessary support to carry out their work efficiently."
Currently, 54 people in the municipality have registered their request to take responsibility for the various feline colonies already identified in Arrecife. These data reflect citizen awareness about the importance of properly managing these colonies, promoting respect for animals and ensuring a balance in the urban environment.
From the Area led by Jacobo Lemes, all those interested in collaborating in this work are encouraged to formalize their registration and join this project, which contributes both to animal welfare and to order in the public spaces of the city.
