The Arrecife City Council has decided to dispense with the online appointment system implemented during the pandemic for administrative procedures. As of this Monday, the consistory has returned to the traditional method: whoever arrives first, takes a number and enters first. This change has led to the accumulation of neighbors, who since 6 in the morning have queued to take a turn.
Despite this, the request via the internet is still available until April 20.
"We have returned to the previous method because there were many people who needed the document at that very moment and through the web platform it offered them an appointment for later days", they have informed La Voz from the consistory.
Regarding the collapse of the first day, the Arrecife City Council has stated that it had already warned of this case. "So many numbers could not be offered, because until April 20 the appointments that were still in force will be combined by the online platform and the traditional method", revealed the municipal body, led by Astrid Pérez. It will be from that day when the internet appointment system is eradicated and the face-to-face system is implemented as the only way to obtain an appointment.
At the same time, the consistory reports that for obtaining residence certificates, one of the most requested procedures, there is a tool on the City Council website available to obtain the certificate without having to go in person. Along these lines, it ensures that the headquarters of the consistory is not the only physical place to obtain this document.
