The mayor of Arrceife, Yonathan de León, explained in an interview with Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero some of the investments planned for 2024. One of them will be the initiation of the 'José Ramírez Cerdá Park Rehabilitation Project', a new initiative that will have a budget of around 1,700,000 euros.

"We are waiting for the green light to start the renovation, adaptation and transformation of the park," the mayor highlighted. In addition, he anticipates that the technical project "already has the approval of the Heritage Department of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and permits have been requested from Costas," he revealed, and also commented this Wednesday during the institutional act of the '225th Anniversary of Arrecife'.

He also clarified that the "authorization from Costas" is still needed, a permit that "has already been requested" and with which it will be possible to "put the works out to tender" during the next year.

De León pointed out that it will be a "comprehensive restoration of the entire park", also of the gardens and trees, including their recovery and the implementation of new trees. He also wanted to emphasize that "César Manrique's work will be preserved."

From the City Council, they already have a "financial file" so that the "works can be put out to tender" in the first quarter of 2024, added de León.

A project, which together with many others such as the Puente de las Bolas and the Plaza de Las Palmas, aims to condition the strategic points of Arrecife. "So that the architectural jewels of the city have a correct and renovated image," concluded the mayor.
