The space, which opened in 1955 and closed in 2020, will become a cultural space where citizens can enjoy exhibitions and other events related to art and culture. The function of the flour mill was the commercialization of milling products for distribution within Lanzarote.

"We will give it a cultural use to host cultural activities such as art galleries and make a market on weekends taking into account that there is the square around and making patrimonial investments that Arrecife has not acquired for a long time so that they are of municipal ownership", he highlighted.

In addition, de León has also revealed that the property will leave them the hoppers "to have that image of yesteryear and rehabilitate them to have a visual image of what it has been."

Finally, the mayor has also announced that the Plaza San Pedro Alcántara in the city will be renamed Plaza el Millo.
