The Arrecife City Council has published in the Official Bulletin of the Province (BOP), this Monday, October 6, the new ordinances and regulatory bases to grant the concession of sports subsidies, both for the promotion of grassroots or competitive sports, or the line that regulates the organization of sporting events in this city. The Municipal Government, led by Mayor Yonathan de León, has been planning with the technical team of the Department of Sports, directed by Councilor Eli Merino, to outline and approve the new municipal ordinances with the new bases that regulate "the granting and justification of competitive concurrence subsidies for the promotion of grassroots and competitive sports to schools and sports entities."

Also, in the BOP of this Monday, the new specific ordinances are published by which "the regulatory bases of subsidies are regulated in a competitive competition regime, for the organization of sports events considered of interest to the municipality of Arrecife".

These ordinances, which were approved in the last plenary session of the City Council held on September 26, are intended to provide a more streamlined process for clubs and athletes to justify the subsidies received, which will also allow them to better plan the entire season.

Arrecife, capital of sports and events The mayor, Yonathan de León, has stated that "with these new ordinances, the municipal strategy to consolidate Arrecife as the capital of sports and events is further strengthened, in line with what has already been done in these first years of the mandate, and now, with the new regulatory framework, clubs will have greater foresight and annual planning." Eli Merino, who in addition to being the head of the Department of Sports is also the head of the Department of Commerce and Tourism, highlighted that "with the publication today in the BOP of these new ordinances, specific ones with a new legal framework, it will be possible to grant more subsidies under a competitive system, for the organization of sporting events considered to be of interest to the municipality of Arrecife."

The Arrecife City Council, in the current annual budgets, has already allocated larger budget items to promote the practice of sports, from clubs, schools and sports entities, and a direct line to promote sports events of interest, where the Argana Alta Sports Hall - which will reopen very soon after almost 14 years closed - will be one of the epicenters of Arrecife as the capital of sports and events.

Following today's publication in the BOP of the new specific ordinances regarding sports, the Department of Sports will very soon publish the opening of the new calls for applications.
