The Department of Urban Planning of the Arrecife City Council, led by Maciot Cabrera, has brought to the Local Government Board this Wednesday the approval of several projects that will incorporate 13 new homes in different neighborhoods of the city, in addition to new parking spaces and an area for offices.

The approved actions include new residential constructions in streets such as Norte, Ortega y Gasset or La Palma, the extension of licenses in the Islote del Quebrado and the renovation of a building in Manolo Millares street, which incorporates homes and an administrative space. These projects contribute to "increase the housing supply and strengthen the diversification of urban uses, with complementary services that improve the lives of residents."

The Councilor for Urban Planning, Maciot Cabrera, has highlighted that these authorizations “are one more step within the continuity strategy that we are developing from the Technical Office, which has intensified its activity to expedite the processing of licenses and release pending projects.”

The mayor also recalled that “urban planning cannot be an isolated effort, but a constant work that offers security to both residents and the professional sector, guaranteeing at the same time an orderly growth of the city.”

With these new authorizations, the Urban Planning Area has already granted licenses for the construction of nearly 500 homes in Arrecife in the two years of Maciot Cabrera's management at the head of the Department. To the more than 285 homes of private initiative processed in this time are also added public promotions, such as the 200 of Maneje, which raise the overall balance to almost half a thousand new authorized homes.

The councilor also announced that, before the end of the year, it is planned to grant a license for another 200 homes in Maneje and 46 more of public promotion in Triana street, which will place the total count at around 700 new homes, consolidating an unprecedented pace of work in the capital of Lanzarote.
