The Department of Social Welfare of the Arrecife City Council, headed by Maite Corujo, announces the launch of a new edition of the Municipal Christmas Conciliation Camps, an initiative that has become an essential resource to support families during the Christmas period and which registers high demand in each call.
Corujo highlights that this proposal "has become a true support for those who need to balance their work and family life during school holidays." According to the councilwoman, "the successful participation we have been experiencing confirms that these camps are necessary and that they fulfill their social mission, especially for families who need it most."
The program, driven by the Corresponsables Plan grant and organized by the Social Welfare Department, will run from December 22, 2025, to January 7, 2026, on weekdays. The camps will take place in three educational centers in the municipality —CEIP Titerroy, CEIP Argana Alta, and CEIP Adolfo Topham—, thus covering different areas of Arrecife and facilitating family access.
The service will be completely free of charge and will have a total of 180 places, with 60 places per center. 50% of these will be reserved for families in vulnerable situations attended by Social Services, while the rest will be available to any family registered in Arrecife who applies. In addition, 15 specific places will be allocated for Functional Diversity Support, prioritizing users of Social Services.
The camp hours will be from 09:00 to 13:45, with the possibility of early drop-off between 07:00 and 09:00, thus offering a wide margin to facilitate work-life balance. The project is aimed at children aged 3 to 12 years.
Councilwoman Maite Corujo emphasizes that "every year we see how families trust this resource that not only offers a safe and educational space for children, but also fosters enriching coexistence during the Christmas season. From the City Council, we continue to support policies that care for people and guarantee real opportunities for work-life balance."
The registration period will remain open from December 4 to 12, 2025, and can be completed through the QR code that will appear on the information posters or via the following link.
Places will be awarded on a strict first-come, first-served basis, provided the requirement of being registered in Arrecife is met.
