The Department of Social Welfare of the Arrecife City Council has published this Monday, June 29, in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas, the extract of the call for subsidies in the area of Social Action 2026. Starting from Tuesday, June 30, the application submission period opens, which will extend for 20 business days, until July 27 inclusive.
The global allocation that the capital's City Council is allocating this year amounts to 508,750 euros, the same amount as in previous years, in order to continue consolidating stable and sustained support for social projects of municipal interest. The maximum subsidy amount per initiative is 35,000 euros and each entity may submit a maximum of three projects.
The subsidies are aimed at non-profit associations, federations, foundations, and NGOs, provided that their objectives are in line with municipal interest and that they develop activities within the municipality of Arrecife, or that, being of supramunicipal scope, at least half of the beneficiaries are residents of the capital.
The projects to be financed must be oriented towards meeting basic subsistence needs, facilitating social and labor integration, promoting volunteerism and coexistence, and promoting values such as equality, solidarity, or healthy living.
The Councilor for Social Welfare, Immigration, and Equality, Maite Corujo, has highlighted that these subsidies aim to improve the well-being of the most vulnerable groups in Arrecife, while supporting the work carried out by social entities in areas such as inclusion, coverage of essential needs, and the promotion of coexistence. Likewise, she emphasizes that the City Council considers the third sector a key partner to reach those who need it most, which is why a firm, continuous, and transparent commitment to their initiatives is maintained.
Interested entities must submit their applications through the electronic registry, including the required documentation and official annexes: Application (Annex I), Social Intervention Project (Annex II), and Income and Expenditure Budget (Annex III). The forms will be available on the municipal electronic headquarters and can also be consulted at the Department of Social Welfare itself (telephone 928 81 27 50, extension 1420, or tomasbarreiro.ssociales@arrecife.es).
The execution period of the projects will cover the entire year 2026, from January 1 to December 31, and the justification of the grants must be submitted in the month following the end of said period. Among the eligible expenses are personnel, civil liability insurance, consumables, administrative and management expenses, operating expenses, and teaching materials.
The awarding of the grants will be made under the competitive tendering regime, through the comparative evaluation of the applications submitted by an evaluation committee. In case of non-compliance with the justification obligations or the imposed conditions, the reimbursement of the amounts received will proceed with the default interest established in Law 38/2003 General on Grants.
