The Cabildo of Lanzarote has announced the summer opening dates for the Papagayo campsite, located in the natural environment of Los Ajaches, in the municipality of Yaiza. The facilities will be operational throughout the season, from July 3 to October 4

The counselor for the Camping Area, Samuel Martín, highlighted "the good reception of the campsite each season, and also its willingness for it to operate uninterruptedly until the first days of October, specifically until the 4th, thus extending the operating period compared to previous years".

Praising the landscape and environmental value of the Papagayo Campsite area, Martín commented that "an excellent summer is expected until the beginning of October", while also mentioning a small restructuring in the layout of the camping area. "After observing the data from last summer and Easter 2026, we observed minimal occupancy of the plots for small tents and a greater demand for space for large ones, as more and more people are following the trend of opting for camper vans instead of tents for camping enjoyment".

Listening to the demands of campers, it has been decided to reorder the 64 plots for small tents, which have been reduced to 8, in order to increase the quota of large plots. The camping area now has approximately 260 plots, most of them enabled for caravans, motorhomes, and camper vehicles, and all of them are equipped with the necessary services to guarantee a comfortable experience.

The corporation has frozen prices to facilitate affordable access. Reservations can be made starting Monday, June 29, through the website https://acampadapapagayo.com, to start enjoying from July 3.

The Cabildo reminds that the formalization of the reservation implies the acceptance and mandatory compliance with the rules of coexistence, to preserve harmony among campers and guarantee the protection of the natural environment. Likewise, it calls for good use of water, as it is a scarce resource on the island, and to limit its consumption to what is strictly necessary.
