The socialist councilor Andrés Stinga has registered this Thursday his resignation from the Cabildo de Lanzarote, a decision he adopts, according to a statement, “for strictly personal reasons”.

Stinga, who began his political career in 1999, says that after more than twenty years of commitment to public life “the time has come to open a new personal and professional stage”, although he remarks that his vocation of service “will always remain”.

In his farewell, the former councilor wanted to express special gratitude to the public workers with whom he has coincided both in the City Council of San Bartolomé and in the Cabildo de Lanzarote itself. “From all of them I have not only received excellent treatment, but I have found predisposition, professionalism and collaboration, in addition to having forged friendships that I will always keep”, he said.

He has also conveyed his gratitude to the residents of the island for the trust placed in him during these years, as well as to his party colleagues and his political adversaries, with whom he says he always maintained a “cordial, fluid and respectful” relationship.

Stinga has also recalled the role of the media, to whom he has thanked for the treatment and respect received, and has dedicated special recognition to his family for their unconditional support in a stage “not always easy”.

“This concludes an important stage of my life, which I have faced with dedication and enthusiasm. At this moment I am starting a new stage and, although you never know what the future holds, I will always be, in the place where I am, with the same disposition and vocation of service towards my island”, he concluded.
