The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Department of Environment, will intensify surveillance and control efforts in the island's protected natural spaces due to the possible celebration of illegal clandestine parties for New Year's Eve.

The island Corporation has become aware, through social media, of the announcement of a large techno music party whose location remains secret and which, according to the information disseminated, would take place in the early morning of next December 31, from 01:00 to 06:00 hours. This type of event poses a serious risk to the conservation of the natural environment, in addition to constituting an infringement of current regulations.

The Minister of Environment of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Samuel Martín, has stated that "we will not allow our natural heritage to be endangered or protected spaces to be used for illegal activities that generate a strong environmental impact." In this regard, he has emphasized that "these environments have protection statuses precisely to guarantee their conservation and respect for biodiversity."

In this way, the Cabildo will reinforce surveillance by coordinating with SEPRONA and local police officers from all municipalities, with the aim of preventing damage, ensuring safety, and deterring the celebration of these types of parties. Samuel Martín recalled that "clandestine parties not only cause damage to the territory, but also generate problems of safety, waste, noise, and nuisance, in addition to a negative effect on Lanzarote's image as a Biosphere Reserve".

Finally, the island institution makes a **call to the public** to celebrate the end of the year responsibly, respecting the natural environment and current legislation, reminding them that any unauthorized activity in protected natural areas may carry significant financial penalties, in addition to legal responsibilities for damages caused to the environment.
