The Minister of Social Welfare and Inclusion of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Marci Acuña, will appear at the next ordinary plenary session held by the island Corporation, scheduled for the end of this month, to report in detail on the situation of the Amavir Tías socio-health center and the actions that have been developed by the Area.
With this appearance, the Cabildo de Lanzarote assures that it "continues to transfer information on the measures adopted in relation to this matter, within the line of work developed by the Institution since the alleged deficiencies detected in the center became known".
Minister Marci Acuña will present to the plenary the actions promoted by the Area of Social Welfare and Inclusion, as well as the supervision and monitoring mechanisms activated to guarantee the well-being and adequate attention to the users.
Likewise, he will detail the meetings held with both the management company and workers and families, in addition to the reinforcement of the Socio-health Places Supervision Unit, recovered by the current government group with the aim of strengthening the control and surveillance mechanisms of care services on the island.
Marci Acuña has pointed out that "from the first moment we have worked with responsibility, discretion and absolute priority towards the elderly and their families", insisting that "transparency and accountability are part of the obligation of any public administration". In this regard, the minister has stressed that the Cabildo "will continue to collaborate with all competent administrations and will maintain constant supervision to guarantee the quality of socio-health care and the protection of users' rights".
The appearance will take place at the next ordinary plenary session of the island Corporation within the government group's willingness to offer all the necessary information on the management and follow-up of this file.
