The La Asomada Song Festival already has a new winner. The young resident of Tinajo, Paola Lira Montero, 15 years old, was proclaimed first place in the third edition of the La Asomada Festival organized by the Tías City Council within the patron saint festivities of San José Obrero, performing the musical theme 'Soñar contigo' (Dreaming with you).
A total of nineteen participants competed in the new edition of this consolidated festival of song interpreters on the island of volcanoes. Paola Lira won a cash prize of 350 euros and a trophy. In addition, the voices of the two finalists were also awarded, which went to Ángela Luque Castro, a native of Madrid, and 49 years old, who performed the song Ahora tú (Now you). In third place, Paloma 'Quimey Ferreyra was classified, with the song Wishing you were somehow here again'. The second and third classified won 250 euros and 150 euros, in prizes respectively.
The jury was composed of Gabriel Tamba, actor, dancer and creator of shows, Enma Soto Garrido, vocalist of the Guágaro Folkloric Group, who acted as president, María Teresa de León Rivera, member of the Festival Commission, Cristóbal Bernal, event producer, Grimanesa Toribio Valiente, worker of the Tías City Council, who acted as secretary, and Beatriz Sicilia, president of the Acuarti Musical Association of Tías.
The festival was presented by Ruíz Rodríguez and the Beatrice Sennet Ballet performed several choreographies during this festival that filled the auditorium of the Cultural Center. The Councilor for Festivities of the Tías City Council, Francisco Javier Aparicio Betancort, and the Councilor for Roads and Works, resident of La Asomada, Antonio Betancort Ramos, participated in the award ceremony on behalf of the Government group.
