The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has extended the yellow wind warning for this Tuesday in Lanzarote. The island is also under a yellow warning for the same reason this Monday.
According to the forecast for this July 30, there will be wind gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour, which will be from the northeast and will mainly affect the southern half areas during the night and afternoon.
The wind episode, which has been in effect since 3:00 AM this Monday, will not leave the island until at least 12:00 PM this Tuesday. Thus, the probability of it occurring is between 40% and 70%.
Meanwhile, Aemet has issued another yellow warning in La Gomera, southern Tenerife, and southern Gran Canaria for high temperatures, from which Lanzarote is exempt.
Temperatures of up to 32 degrees and high-altitude dust
Although the island does not have any high-temperature warnings in effect to start the week, the Government of the Canary Islands has established a pre-alert situation for heat. Aemet forecasts that temperatures could exceed between 30 and 32 degrees in the southern inland areas this Tuesday. Added to this is the presence of high-altitude dust.
