The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued a yellow warning for swell for this Thursday in Lanzarote. This warning coincides with the passage of a new storm that will reach the archipelago starting April 9.

Said forecast marks bad state of the sea in the entire archipelago, including Lanzarote and La Graciosa, with the exception of the south of Tenerife, which is not included in the warnings.

In the islands, it is expected that between 06:00 and 24:00 hours on Thursday night there will be combined sea from the northwest with waves between four and five meters, and a probability of this phenomenon occurring between 40 and 70%.

This storm will be located between Lanzarote and Madeira, possibly coming accompanied by weak precipitation and northeast winds. According to what the delegate of Aemet in the Canary Islands, David Suárez, pointed out to La Voz this past Monday, for the moment there is no great concern about its passage.

For the moment, one will have to wait to know if the warnings will extend also for Friday.
