Next January 5, the municipality of Yaiza will experience a day starring the Three Wise Men from the East, "who this year have a double appointment, since they will travel through the main towns in the morning in motor vehicles, while in the afternoon they will ride camels in the traditional parades of Yaiza and Playa Blanca, which are recovered after the two years of restrictions derived from the pandemic", they point out from the City Council.
"At 9:00 a.m. Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar will receive the key to our municipality from its mayor, Óscar Noda, and the Councilor for Festivities, Javier Camacho, at the Bodega La Geria, immediately beginning their morning journey that will take them in a motor vehicle through the main towns of Yaiza", they explain from the Consistory.
To consult the itinerary of the Three Wise Men and the estimated time of arrival in each town, interested people can do so through the QR codes included in the 'royal mailboxes' installed throughout the municipality, where boys and girls can also deposit their letters.
In the afternoon, the traditional parades will arrive in the towns of Yaiza and Playa Blanca, scheduled for 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., respectively, in which their majesties will be accompanied by batucada, floats, children's characters and a circus show. Both will be preceded, in addition, by children's workshops from 3:30 p.m. in the case of Yaiza, in the vicinity of the Plaza de Los Remedios, and from 5:30 p.m. in Playa Blanca, with an operations center in the Plaza del Carmen.
The southern festival councilor, Javier Camacho, invites you to enjoy "this intense day with which we wanted to compensate for the sobriety that the circumstances demanded in previous years" and recalls that tonight the Carpa de Puerto Calero will host the tribute to Elvis Crespo, starting at 9:30 p.m., a concert that promises a lot of dancing and fun.
