The Yaiza City Council has temporarily prohibited swimming in Playa Dorada, in the southern town of Playa Blanca, this Tuesday, after Public Health verified indicators of microbiological contamination in the laboratory results of seawater samples taken last Monday, whose analyses were completed this Tuesday.

Yaiza asks that the notice advising against swimming be respected while municipal technicians verify the causes of the incidence and Public Health carries out new analyses.

Yaiza recommends that residents and tourists enjoy other beaches such as those located in the Los Ajaches Natural Monument, known as Papagayo beaches; Playa Flamingo or even the small beach in the town.

Public Health continues to take samples until laboratory results determine that the water is suitable for swimming, at which time the City Council will order the opening of the beach.
