The Yaiza City Council has decided to cancel all extracurricular activities this Monday, November 11 due to the pre-alert situation declared by the General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands
The municipal decision, which affects outdoor activities and also those planned in enclosed areas, aims to "guarantee the safety of the participants and avoid travel in vehicles", the Council points out.
Although according to the City Council the cancellation only affects extracurricular activities this Monday, the yellow warning activated by wind by the State Meteorological Agency will extend until 3 p.m. this Tuesday, a day in which gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour are expected, especially in the interior areas and the south coast of the island.
As for the yellow warning for coastal phenomena that also affects Lanzarote, it will be deactivated at midnight from this Monday to Tuesday by Aemet.
