The Maritime Rescue plane spotted two boats off the coast of Lanzarote this Saturday morning.
The first one was spotted around 09.30 hours southeast of the island and Al Nair has moved to it, intercepted it and transferred it to the Commercial dock. The Red Cross has assisted the 52 occupants who were traveling on it, all of sub-Saharan origin. There are 44 men, 7 women, one of them pregnant and a baby. Both the pregnant woman and the mother and her baby have been evacuated to Molina Orosa as a protocol. All are in good health.
Shortly after, around 11.10, the second boat was located northwest of the island and the Caliope boat was in charge of its rescue. In this one were traveling 49 men, all of sub-Saharan origin.
