The Art, Culture, and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo of Lanzarote will remain closed this Thursday, November 13, due to the declaration of orange alert for the arrival of storm Claudia to the archipelago. The decision is adopted as a preventive measure to guarantee the safety of visitors and workers.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has raised the warning for rainfall in Lanzarote, La Graciosa, and the rest of the islands to orange level, with forecasts of rain that could reach up to 30 millimeters per hour and be accompanied by thunderstorms. These conditions could affect Arrecife at specific points, where floods have already been recorded in previous episodes.

The passage of Claudia will also bring strong winds and rough seas to all of the Canary Islands, which has led the regional government to activate the alert status for risk of floods, precipitation, and wind, as well as the pre-alert for storms and coastal phenomena.

From the Lanzarote Island Council's Security and Emergency Consortium, the population is recommended to comply with self-protection measures and remain attentive to updates issued through the official channels of the Government of the Canary Islands.
