The Torrelavega Society of Culture, Recreation and Sports has begun this Wednesday the events to commemorate the 75th anniversary of its foundation, an anniversary that took place in 2019 but Covid meant that it could not be celebrated until now.
The place chosen to kick off a complete agenda of events has been on Teobaldo Power Street in the capital, right where the Society's first headquarters was inaugurated in 1944.
The musical group Too Brass, directed by the musician Ayoze Rodríguez, performed two songs at the beginning of the event before the president of Torrelavega, Toñín Ramos, took the floor. Before the public, the program of events that they have organized was detailed, and that will last until the month of December.
Next September 8 will take place the exhibition "History of Torrelavega", which will be attended by, among other personalities of the island, the mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez, and the president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo. In addition, there will also be that day the performance of Alexis Lemes, with his interpretation of "Timplefonías".
Concerts, recognitions, poetry and literature will be some of the events that will star during these months the events of the 75th anniversary of Torrelavega. The last of them will be on December 15, with the musical performance of Casual Combo Big Band at the Society's headquarters.
The group Too Brass performed three other songs after explaining the program of events that will be held during these months, a performance that led to unanimous applause from the event attendees.
