The General Assembly of workers of the Seaside Los Jameos Hotel located in Puerto del Carmen have unanimously decided to start mobilizations "in the face of the unsustainable situation of working conditions", as reported by UGT Lanzarote.

The first of these will be a concentration that will take place in front of the Seaside Los Jameos Playa hotel next Wednesday, April 5 at 4:00 p.m.

"The lack of personnel causes work overloads that the staff is no longer willing to suffer." In addition, "the company is not complying with the established schedules, nor the minimum rest periods established by the regulations." Also a year ago "the works council communicated a pre-strike notice for the same reason."

"The lack of personnel causes work overloads that the staff is no longer willing to suffer."

"The strike did not take place because the Hotel management expressed its commitment to improve the working conditions of the staff." "Commitments that to date have not been met."

The works council denounces "the high number of fixed-term contracts, which do not meet the real needs of the service", and therefore, "causes an overload of work for the staff".

Likewise, they denounce that "the Hotel management repeatedly violates the Collective Agreement, does not respect the minimum rest periods established, nor with the established schedules and timetables." All of this causing "the workers of this hotel establishment to be unable to reconcile their work and family life."
