The singer from Lanzarote, Rosana Arbelo, will offer a concert in Mancha Blanca, on September 14, coinciding with the eve of the Los Dolores festival. This event, organized by the Presidency area and the Department of Education and Culture of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, has the collaboration of the Department of Tourism of the Government of the Canary Islands.
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Inés Rojas, highlighted the "enormous effort" that has been made from the First Institution to be able to assume an event of this magnitude. Likewise, Inés Rojas assured that "from the first moment, the singer enthusiastically welcomed the idea of playing on her Island, in her home, at a party as important for the people of Lanzarote as Los Dolores". The president of the Cabildo also hopes "that the population of the Island will not miss this event with the music of one of the most international Lanzarote natives".
BIOGRAPHY
Rosana was born in Lanzarote in 1963. At the age of 20 she moved to Madrid where she studied harmony and guitar. In 1994, a song composed by her won first prize at the Benidorm Festival; From then on, her compositions began to interest many artists. In 1996 she decided to sing her own compositions herself and published her first album: Lunas Rotas, an album that reached an unexpected projection. Without intending to, she became a mass phenomenon. The simplicity, naturalness and emotion of her work touched the hearts of hundreds of thousands of people. Her entry into the bestseller list was the strongest of a new artist in the history of music in Spain. She achieved sales of more than 1,600,000 copies in our country, and more than 900,000 in the rest of the planet.
Luna Nueva was her second work, a more mature and profound album but which maintained the freshness, naturalness and feeling that characterize Rosana. In 2001, Rosana broke three years of recording silence, during which she continued composing for other singers, and "Rosana" went on sale, a title that according to the singer herself: "reflects my personality".
On May 23, 2003, at the Círculo de Bellas Artes, Rosana presented her first book "Rosana. Sensitive Material. Songs and Poems" published by Aguilar. It is a selection of thoughts, poems, songs written for other performers, songs already performed by her and other unpublished songs that the singer may choose for a new album. In this same year, the singer-songwriter is working on the creation of a new record label from which new artists will be launched.
Marca Registrada, Rosana's fourth album, is a different album, since it not only brings together hits and beloved songs from her three previous albums; She also premieres unpublished songs. Currently Rosana has her 5th album, Magia, on the market, an album that went platinum a month after its release.
Rosana has received countless awards in recognition of her talent, such as the Gold Medal of the Canary Islands, recently obtained, the Ondas award for best new artist and best album, European Platinum album for sales exceeding one million copies in Europe, the Amigo award for best female solo artist, the Gardel de la Música award for best Latin female artist, among others.
