The Salvamar Calíope rescues two boats early this Tuesday near Lanzarote

The Salvamar Calíope rescued 137 people traveling in two inflatable boats in the early hours of this Tuesday, January 7, as reported by the Emergency Consortium.

The event occurred at around 4 in the morning about 43 miles east of Lanzarote. The occupants of the boats have been transferred to Puerto Naos in Arrecife where they have been assisted by the Red Cross.

At 5:30 a.m., the NGO moved to the port. In total, 137 people were treated, of which four needed to be transferred to a health center for different pathologies.

With these two, there are already 11 boats that have reached the coasts of the island.
