After two years without celebrating the Holy Week processions, this Sunday the image of the Lord with the Burrita went out touring the main streets of the capital of Lanzarote.
At 11:00 am began the celebration of the Eucharist presided over by the parish priest of the parish of San Ginés Obispo, Juan Carlos Medina. For the parish priest it is his first Holy Week after replacing the previous Miguel Hernández last September.
With the celebration of this Eucharist of "Palm Sunday", begins the "Semana Grande", for the Catholic community. This year the faithful filled the three naves of the temple wearing masks and there were also many who followed the celebration in the vicinity and Plaza de Las Palmas.
At 12:00 hours with the ringing of the bells and the parishioners with the branches and palms raised high with songs typical of this day welcomed the image of the "Lord of the Burrita", accompanying him on his tour of the main streets of the city of Arrecife, under the watchful eye of many tourists who at that time were in the city which did not stop shooting their cameras and mobile phones immortalizing the processional parade.
