The heat wave will scorch Lanzarote: red warning for high temperatures this weekend

Aemet predicts that up to 41 degrees may be reached from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, which is added to the orange warning on Saturday

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated the red warning for high temperatures for this Sunday in Lanzarote. The heat wave that is reaching the Canary Islands these days had already forced the issuance of an orange warning for this Saturday, August 9. For the moment, according to the weather forecast, Sunday will be the peak of this wave.

Aemet activates the red warning from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday. It is expected that in the interior of the island and midlands areas up to 41 degrees can be reached locally. However, it is expected that 39 degrees can be reached at any point in the island territory.
