The family of the disabled child enrolled in Yaiza can now breathe easy. After their public plea for help on social media and in the press, the Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands has finally granted an educational assistant for the minor.
This was communicated by his own family to La Voz, who a few days ago contacted this media outlet to request this help for the child, who is four years old, with epilepsy and recognized disability. The family had been waiting for a response and a solution since the start of the school year, while the minor continued to attend school without the requested health support.
"After so much waiting, worry, and uncertainty, we finally feel great relief knowing that our son has the support he needs during his school day," expressed his relatives.
Thus, they have thanked all the help that Lanzarote has provided. "We want to thank from the bottom of our hearts each and every one of the people who shared our news, who supported us, who echoed our situation, and who helped our request reach further," they said.
In addition, they thanked the director of CEIP Yaiza, for "his support and for looking out for our son." "Thanks to our friends and family, for always being by our side, for listening to us, and for helping us at all times. Thanks also to the media and the press who gave voice to our situation and helped us make visible a need that was so important to us," they stated.
"And, above all, thank you to all the people who cared about our little one, even without knowing us personally. Every message, every shared post, and every gesture of support meant so much to our family," they concluded.
