Around five hundred people gathered last Thursday, November 21 at the Taro de Tahíche on the occasion of the inauguration of the exhibition Lanzarote. Unseen Architecture by the César Manrique Foundation, which will be available until September 1, 2025.
This exhibition arose to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of Manrique's homonymous book from 1974, which has been reissued twice.
The exhibition consists of more than a hundred photographs included in the book, as well as unpublished images of traditional architecture from the Manrique archive. In addition to newspaper texts and letters about the book.
It also features recreations of architectural elements, such as the oven, the wall, and dovecotes, as well as original drawings and fragments of text that accompany the photographs.
