The Canary Islands Government declares pre-alert for coastal phenomena in Lanzarote

The General Directorate of Emergencies of the Canary Islands Government has declared the pre-alert for coastal phenomena in Lanzarote based on the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).

The pre-alert will come into effect from 8:00 p.m. this Wednesday due to the poor sea conditions. The waves may reach 3-4 meters in height, with east wind force 3-5 (12-38 kilometers per hour), rippling with local areas of swell offshore and northeast swell of 2-3.5 meters.

The pre-alert also extends to the north and west coast of La Palma, El Hierro, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, west coast of La Gomera, north coast of Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
