The Cabildo of Lanzarote organized this Monday at the Farmer's Monument a snack for the participants of the XXI Torneo de Bola Canaria de Madera 'Abuelos Conejeros'. More than 570 people, members of the more than 100 teams that took part in the tournament, enjoyed this meeting.
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, expressed her gratitude "to all the elderly people who took part in this Christmas celebration of the union that this sport has achieved, further reinforcing the great success that the competition meant for this group".
In the same vein, the Minister of Sports, Alfredo Mendoza, celebrated the great reception of this snack and assured that it will be repeated in the coming years, as will the tournament, in order to continue promoting physical and social activity among the elderly of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
The climax to this event, in which the Minister of Social Welfare, Isabel Martín, was also present, was the renowned Canarian singer-songwriter Pepe Benavente who gave a performance for the enjoyment of those present.
